Player to score – John McGinn (Cyprus v Scotland)

Scotland can take another big step towards Euro 2024 qualification by beating Cyprus on Friday night with John McGinn expected to be an important figure for Steve Clarke’s team. McGinn is a more attack-minded figure for Scotland than he is for Aston Villa and is a good bet to find the back of the net in Larnaca.

McGinn scored in the first meeting between Scotland and Cyprus in Group A and will be allowed to get into the opposition penalty box to pose a goal threat. Scott McTominay has five goals in just four Euro 2024 qualifiers, but McGinn is seventh in Scotland’s all-time scorers list.

Under 2.5 total goals – Slovakia v Portugal

Portugal have enjoyed a strong start to life under Roberto Martinez, winning all four Euro 2024 qualifiers. The Euro 2016 winners have also found their scoring touch, netting 14 times in the process. Friday’s match, however, will be the biggest test Portugal have faced so far in Group J.

Slovakia are unbeaten in Euro 2024 qualification so far. What’s more, they have kept three clean sheets in four matches. Portugal might well edge this one with their attacking talent, but this could be a cagey encounter decided by a single goal.

Match to be a draw – Luxembourg v Iceland

Luxembourg have been one of the surprise packages of Euro 2024 qualification so far with the country of just 640,000 people currently sitting third in Group J with seven points from four games. Friday’s home fixture against Iceland presents them with a chance to continue their good form.

Iceland, on the other hand, have made a disappointing start to Euro 2024 qualifying with their 7-0 win over Liechtenstein their only victory to date. Luxembourg could be a dangerous opponent, but this might be a match where both teams ultimately settle for a point.

Both teams to score – Georgia v Spain

Spain must get their Euro 2024 qualification campaign back on track after suffering a shock defeat to Scotland in March. They are favourites to pick up three points on Friday night, but Georgia could be challenging opponents. Indeed, the hosts will carry a threat of their own.

Georgia are averaging 14.3 shots per goal in Group A – more than any other team in the group – and they’ll have Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to get in behind the high defensive line from Spain. Georgia have scored in all but one of their three qualifiers so far.

England have a 100% record in Euro 2024 so far and will fancy their chances of extending their perfect start with a win over Ukraine on Saturday night. The match will take place in Poland, diminishing any home advantage Ukraine might have had. England can also draw from their comfortable 2-0 win over the same opponent in March.

Bukayo Saka will be a threat for the Three Lions considering the Arsenal winger has scored in two of his last three games for England. Not much has troubled Gareth Southgate’s team in Group C to date and that easy passage to the Euros will likely continue on Saturday night.
