Netherlands v Qatar – Netherlands Over 3.5 Goals

While the Netherlands have still to find top form at the 2022 World Cup, Louis Van Gaal’s team face a Qatar side that are already out of their own tournament and have conceded five times in just two games. Cody Gakpo has two goals in two games and will have an opportunity to fill his boots against an opponent with nothing to play for but pride.

Van Gaal is facing criticism over the structure of his midfield with the former Manchester United manager also chopping and changing his attack from game-to-game. The Netherlands have looked disjointed against Senegal and Ecuador, but their talent advantage could see them rip Qatar apart.

The Netherlands scored 14 times in just eight UEFA Nations League games. Van Gaal has built his team on a strong defensive footing, but they have the vertical threat and technical ability to play through opponents, even if they haven’t necessarily demonstrated this at the 2022 World Cup so far.

Iran v USA – Tim Weah To Score

Iran and USA enter Tuesday’s final Group B fixture with their place in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup on the line. Gregg Berhalter’s team impressed in their 0-0 draw against England on Friday, but are still searching for their first win of the tournament. Three points against Iran will put them in the next round.

Tim Weah has scored the USA’s only goal of the 2022 World Cup so far and the 22-year-old will be an important part of their game plan against Iran. Weah offers the USA vertical threat and if they can find the Lille winger from deep there’s a good chance he will be presented with at least one opportunity to find the back of the net for a second time.

A surprise 2-0 win over Wales put Iran on the board in Group B with three points, but their defence was leaky enough to give up six goals against England. The USA might not carry the same attacking threat, but their movement in quick transition will be a handful for the Iranian backline.

Ecuador v Senegal – Under 2.5 Total Goals

The final Group A match between Ecuador and Senegal could be a straight shootout to decide which team takes their place in the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup. Ecuador can be pleased with their win over Qatar and draw against the Netherlands, but need a positive result against Senegal to get the job done.

Sadio Mane’s injury robbed Senegal of their primary attacking difference-maker before the start of the tournament and so the Lions of Teranga might have to grind out a win against Ecuador. The South Americans won’t concede much time and space to their opponents, such is their high-pressing approach.

Enner Valencia is a doubt for this match after sustaining an injury against the Netherlands, meaning Ecuador’s attack could also be blunt. With so much on the line for both teams as they look to take the next step at the 2022 World Cup, this could be one of the cagier matches of the tournament
