Player to score – Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa v Chelsea)

Ollie Watkins is in good goalscoring form. Indeed, the Aston Villa striker has found the back of the net five times in his last eight appearances and will lead the line for Unai Emery’s team against Chelsea this weekend. The Blues have been defensively shaky of late, and so Watkins could add to his tally.

Chelsea haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last eight league matches and have conceded seven in their last three. Villa’s quick transition approach could exploit the space in behind Enzo Maresca’s backline, with Watkins the most likely to benefit. He will surely have opportunities to score.

Under 2.5 total goals – Everton v Manchester United

Manchester United travel to Goodison Park for the final time for Saturday’s early kick-off against Everton. The Toffees climbed above United in the Premier League table last weekend by beating Crystal Palace, while Ruben Amorim’s team are on a run of just two wins from their last nine league games.

Beto has found his scoring touch recently, but Everton are still a limited attacking team. The same can certainly be said of Manchester United, who have drawn a blank in three of their last six away matches. Saturday’s game on Merseyside could be decided by a single goal. It might be cagey.

Match to be a draw – Newcastle v Nottingham Forest

After a recent positive run of form, Newcastle United were dismantled by Manchester City last weekend. The Magpies will have to demonstrate greater intensity if they are to break down Nottingham Forest at St James’ Park on Sunday, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s team expected to sit deep and counter.

Forest’s impressive form has dipped slightly of late following defeats to Bournemouth and Fulham. Nonetheless, Sunday’s game at St James’ Park could be a good match-up for Forest, who will have space in behind to exploit through the speed of attackers like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antony Elanga.

Both teams to score – Bayern Munich v Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich were pushed all the way by Celtic in the Champions League during the week, and Eintracht Frankfurt could have similar joy against the Bavarians this week. While Frankfurt lost Omar Marmoush in January, they still have one of the sharpest attacking lines in the Bundesliga.

There have been over 2.5 goals in 15 of the last 17 meetings between Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt in all competitions. The table-toppers will control the majority of possession, such is Vincent Kompany’s style of play, but Frankfurt will have a threat on the counterattack. Only Bayern and Leverkusen have scored more league goals than them.

Man City vs Liverpool

This weekend’s marquee match in the Premier League sees Liverpool travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City. Of course, Pep Guardiola’s team aren’t the same force they have been in past seasons. In past seasons, this would have been a title decider. For Liverpool, it could still have a bearing on their championship chances.

Mohamed Salah has been in sensational form for Liverpool this season, registering 39 goal involvements in the Premier League. Erling Haaland is a doubt for the home side after missing the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, but Marmoush could still be a threat in behind the Liverpool backline.
