Player to score – Chris Wood (Leicester City v Nottingham Forest)
Nottingham Forest have been one of the surprise packages of the Premier League season so far with Nuno Espirito Santo’s team flying high in eighth place. Chris Wood has been a big part of that success having found the back of the net three times in his last four games. He will have chances to continue that scoring streak on Friday night.
Leicester City have kept a clean sheet in just one of their four home games in the league this season. Steve Cooper will come up against his former club this weekend, but the Foxes might struggle against the physical threat of Wood as Forest’s attacking focal point. The New Zealand international will be key.
Over 2.5 total goals – Real Madrid v Barcelona
The first Clasico of the season promises to be spectacle with Real Madrid welcoming Barcelona to the Santiago Bernabeu just days after both teams earned eye-catching wins in the Champions League. Indeed, Los Blancos thumped Borussia Dortmund 5-2 while the Catalans put four goals past Bayern Munich in a 4-1 win.
Barca and Real Madrid both have the highest Expected Goals (xG) in La Liga this season. Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are firing on all cylinders for the table-toppers with Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe growing as a partnership for Los Blancos. Saturday’s Clasico will surely produce goals.
Match to be a draw – Everton v Fulham
After a dreadful start to the season, Everton have steadied themselves in recent weeks. Indeed, the Toffees are unbeaten in their last four league games and have demonstrated greater defensive resolve by keeping clean sheets in games against Newcastle United and Ipswich Town.
Fulham enter Saturday’s match on the back of successive defeats to Manchester City and Aston Villa. The Cottagers will have an easier time against Everton, but Marco Silva’s team have won just once away from home in the league this season. Everton and Fulham might have to settle for a sharing of the points.
Both teams to score – Brighton v Wolves
Brighton can make it three league wins on the spin against Wolves this weekend with Gary O’Neill’s team still searching for their first victory of the season. The Seagulls are firm favourites to collect three points at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, but the form guide suggests both teams will find the net.
There have been over 2.5 goals in Wolves’ last five matches in the Premier League while Brighton have kept just one clean sheet in four league games at home this season – and that came against Ipswich Town. The visitors to the south coast will pose a threat through players like Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Arsenal vs Liverpool
Sunday’s marquee match in the Premier League sees Arsenal host Liverpool with the Gunners in desperate need of a win to close the gap on Arne Slot’s team at the top of the table. Arsenal, however, have scored just one goal in their last two games and are missing Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka in attack.
Liverpool are having no suffer problems. Indeed, the Reds have scored two or more goals in 10 of their last 12 league matches with Mohamed Salah scoring five times so far this season. The Egyptian will pose a threat at the Emirates Stadium with Liverpool currently flying under their new manager.
