Player to score – Iago Aspas (Spain v Norway) – 5/4

Spain are expected to start with a conventional centre forward against Norway with Luis de Fuente likely to turn to Iago Aspas in his first match in charge following the exit of Luis Enrique. The hope is that the 35-year-old, who has scored three goals in his last two games for Celta Vigo, can be a difference-maker.

Aspas has 12 goals in 26 league appearances this season and will give Spain the sort of cutting edge they lacked in key moments at the 2022 World Cup. De la Fuente’s team will still dominate possession, but now they might have someone to take advantage of the chances they create.

Over 1.5 goals – France (v Netherlands) – 41/50

France start a new cycle against the Netherlands in Euro 2024 qualification after losing the 2022 World Cup final to Argentina. Didier Deschamps’ is still in place as manager, but Karim Benzema, Hugo Lloris and Raphael Varane have all retired for Les Blues, meaning there is an element of uncertainty about France right now.

However, France have scored two or more goals in their last four matches against the Netherlands in all competitions and with Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann in exceptional form there’s a good chance that streak will continue on Friday.

Correct score – Scotland 2-1 Cyprus (8.5/1)

Scotland have two home matches to start their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with Cyprus at Hampden Park on Saturday. Steve Clarke’s team are unbeaten in their last four competitive fixtures and haven’t lost at home since the 2022 World Cup playoff defeat to Ukraine in June last year.

In each of the last four meetings, Scotland have beaten Cyprus by a scoreline of 2-1. The hosts will likely have too much quality for the visitors to Glasgow, but this will be a competitive fixture against a Cyprus team that showed in last year’s Nations League trip away to Northern Ireland that they can score while on the road.

Both teams to score – Sweden v Belgium (17/20)

Roberto Martinez is gone and Belgium will start a new era with Domenico Tedesco in charge with a Euro 2024 qualifier against Sweden. The former RB Leipzig and Schalke boss is expected to rebuild the Red Devils after disappointment in Qatar and will want to start with a win over Sweden who Belgium have beaten in their last three meetings.

Sweden start their Euro 2024 qualification campaign on the back of wins over Mexico, Algeria, Finland and Iceland. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back in their squad while Emil Forsberg and the in-form Alexander Isak are also expected to feature for the home team. This could be an entertaining affair.

England played with their backs to the wall in the final stages of Thursday’s away win over Italy, but the first half performance demonstrated what they can produce as an attacking outfit. Bukayo Saka looked lively and has nailed down his position on the right side of Gareth Southgate’s attack – Saka scored twice in his last Arsenal appearance before the break.

The Three Lions have found the back of the net at least once in six of their last seven matches in all competitions and will fancy their chances against a Ukraine team that shipped three goals to Scotland last time they visited the United Kingdom last September.
