Player to score – Jamie Vardy (Leicester v Brighton) 49/20

Ruud van Nistelrooy enjoyed a winning start to life as Leicester City manager as the Foxes beat West Ham during the week. Jamie Vardy scored in that 3-1 victory and is a good bet to find the net again this weekend as Leicester host Brighton at the King Power Stadium.

While Brighton will likely control possession against Leicester on Sunday, this could be to Vardy’s benefit. The 37-year-old thrives when he has open space to attack and the Seagulls will provide plenty of this. If Leicester can feed Vardy the ball often enough, there’s a strong chance he’ll do something with it.

Over 2.5 total goals – Real Betis v Barcelona (12/25)

Barcelona snapped a poor run of form with a 5-1 demolition of Mallorca during the week and will face Real Betis and the Benito Villamarin this weekend. There has been over 2.5 goals in 12 of the last 14 meetings between these two teams in all competitions and so there’s good reason to expect goals this weekend.

Barca have been in exceptional attacking form this season and have found the back of the net two or more times in 20 of their last 23 matches in La Liga. Meanwhile, Real Betis have scored at least once in every home league game so far this season. They will have opportunities against the Catalans.

Match to be a draw – Juventus v Bologna (27/10)

No team has drawn more games in Serie A this season than Juventus. Eight of their 14 matches have ended in stalemate with Thiago Motta’s team still searching for attacking firepower. They haven’t been helped by the recent injury to striker Dusan Vlahovic with the Old Lady lacking a deputy for the Serbian.

Bologna have also drawn six of the 13 matches they have played in the league so far this season. Vincenzo Italiano is still getting his ideas across following his move to Bologna to replace Motta in the summer with Bologna only scoring 18 goals this term. Saturday’s match in Turin could be a cagey one.

Both teams to score – West Ham v Wolves (8/15)

Julen Lopetegui and Gary O’Neill enter Monday’s match between West Ham and Wolves with their respective jobs on the line. Defeat for either manager could result in their sacking if recent reports are to be believed and so there will be plenty at stake for both teams as they face each other at the London Stadium.

Wolves have the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season having conceded 36 goals in just 14 games with their most recent defeat seeing four goals shipped to Everton. Meanwhile, West Ham have conceded eight times in their last two outings against Arsenal and Leicester City.

Chelsea could pile more misery on Tottenham Hotspur following their mid-week defeat to Bournemouth. Ange Postecoglou is coming under increasing pressure for his team’s inconsistency with Sunday’s match against Chelsea another difficult test.

Nicolas Jackson is in line to start after being rested against Southampton while Cole Palmer will continue to be a threat for the Blues. Chelsea have won the first half of their last three matches and so there’s good reason to believe they will start fast against their rivals from North London this weekend.
