Player to score – Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa v Tottenham) 59/50

Ollie Watkins is in sensational form. The Aston Villa centre forward has scored five goals in his last three Premier League matches and is a good bet to extend that run against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. Sunday’s match could have a big bearing on the top four race and Watkins will be key for the home side.

While Spurs will pose a threat of their own at Villa Park, Ange Postecoglou’s team haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last seven games in all competitions. Aston Villa got the better of Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season – and Watkins found the back of the net in that match.

Over 3.5 total goals – Arsenal v Brentford (11/10)

Arsenal are on fire at the moment. Indeed, the Gunners have scored 21 goals in their last four Premier League matches and are fresh from putting six goals past Sheffield United on Monday night. Brentford could be the next opposition team to be put to the sword when they visit North London this weekend.

Brentford will carry a threat of their own at the Emirates Stadium. Thomas Frank’s side might be fighting the threat of relegation near the bottom of the Premier League table, but they have scored in all but one of their last 13 matches – and that was away to Manchester City. There should be goals in this one.

Match to be a draw – Wolves v Fulham (49/20)

Saturday’s match between Wolves and Fulham is a difficult one to call. While Wolves won three games in-a-row in February, their run came to a shuddering half with a defeat to Newcastle United last weekend. Fulham, meanwhile, have lost just one of their last six matches in the Premier League.

Rodrigo Muniz has made a difference for the Cottagers in recent weeks. The Brazilian striker has scored five goals in his last five games, but Wolves have quality attacking players too with Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto all capable of producing in the final third. The two teams could cancel each other out.

Both teams to score – Bayern Munich v Mainz (4/5)

Bayern Munich recorded a much-needed win against Lazio in the Champions League during the week, but the pressure remains on Thomas Tuchel’s team in the Bundesliga where they have won just one of their last four matches. The Bavarians need three points against Mainz to keep alive their fading title hopes.

Harry Kane rediscovered his scoring touch against Lazio, but Bayern Munich’s defence has been shaky in recent weeks and this is something Mainz could exploit, particularly on the rapid counter-attack. Bayern haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last six league matches. Mainz will have opportunities.

Sunday’s meeting between Liverpool and Manchester City could have a big bearing on this season’s Premier League title race. There is just one point between the two rivals at the top of the table, making this one of the most consequential fixtures of the 2023/24 campaign so far. It will be a must-watch event.

Both teams have scored in Liverpool’s last five home matches, which is good news for City. The Reds are unbeaten in 19 of their last 20 matches while Manchester City have won nine of their last 10 matches. Mohamed Salah hasn’t started a match for Liverpool since 1st January, but his scoring record against City at Anfield is a good one and Jurgen Klopp will surely give him a chance from the start on Sunday.
