Player to score – Leon Bailey (Aaron Villa v Arsenal)

Aston Villa have another opportunity to highlight their improvement under Unai Emery at home to another Premier League title challenger this weekend. Emery’s approach will give Villa a good chance of pulling off a result against Arsenal with the hosts likely to set up to get in behind the opposition defence as often as possible.

Leon Bailey has found the back of the net in each of his last two matches and his pace and direct running will present Aston Villa with a route to goal this weekend too. The Jamaican winger has the skill set to give the Gunners problems and his high confidence could give him cutting edge in front of goal.

Under 2.5 total goals – Juventus v Napoli

Juventus can move to the top of the Serie A table with a win over last season’s Scudetto winners Napoli on Friday night. Defensive solidity has been key to the Old Lady’s recent form with Max Allegri’s team, illustrated by the six matches they went between September and November without conceding a goal in the league.

Napoli have struggled for form so far this season. They have gone through two different managers and have drawn a blank in two of their last three Serie A matches. Napoli have frequently struggled against low defensive blocks recently and Juventus will sit deep before hitting on the counter-attack.

Match to be a draw – Sheffield United v Brentford

Chris Wilder will take charge of his second match since returning to Sheffield United against Brentford on Saturday. The Blades suffered defeat to Liverpool mid-week, but Brentford have an underwhelming away record in the Premier League this season. This could be their opportunity to add some points to the board.

Brentford have won just two of their seven matches on the road so far this season. Thomas Frank will be without Bryan Mbuemo for the trip north to face Sheffield United, meaning Brentford could find it difficult to carry much of a goal threat. This match could be heading for a draw.

Both teams to score – Luton Town v Manchester City

Luton Town scored three times against one title challenger mid-week and they will pose an attacking threat to another title challenger on Sunday. The Hatters have conceded the third-most goals in the Premier League this season, but they have also found the net themselves in games against Aston Villa, Liverpool and Arsenal.

What’s more, Manchester City have conceded in each of their last five matches in all competitions, allowing 11 times in the process. Pep Guardiola’s team have struggled particularly against opponents that play on the quick counter-attack and Luton will attempt to do that when the champions visit Kenilworth Road.

Graham’s Bet Builder – Tottenham vs. Newcastle

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United enter this weekend’s clash in North London on the back of disappointing results during the week. Spurs have now gone five league games without a win while the Magpies suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park to leave them seventh in the table.

Newcastle’s away form in the Premier League this season has been underwhelming with Eddie Howe’s team winning just one of their seven games on the road. Both teams have scored in Spurs’ last five matches, but the Magpies might not have enough within their squad – already stretched due to injuries – to claim all three points.
