Player to score – Martin Odegaard (Arsenal v Fulham) 31/20

Arsenal have started their Premier League title challenge with back-to-back wins over Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Martin Odegaard opened his account for the new season from the spot at Selhurst Park with the Norwegian seemingly the new first-choice penalty taker for the Gunners this term.

That in itself makes Odegaard an attractive bet to find the back of the net against Fulham this weekend. The Arsenal captain enjoyed his best goal-scoring season in the Premier League last season and will fancy his chances of surpassing his tally of 15 goals in 37 games.

Over 2.5 total goals – Borussia Monchengladbach v Bayer Leverkusen (4/9)

Borussia Monchengladbach started their Bundesliga campaign with a 4-4 draw against Augsburg. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen edged a five-goal thriller against RB Leipzig in a 3-2 victory. These two teams are known for their ability to find the back of the net and they will meet each other on Saturday evening.

There has been over 2.5 total goals in seven of the last eight meetings between Gladbach (who have scored two or more goals in each of their last five Bundesliga outings) and Leverkusen which suggests this weekend’s encounter could be another goals-fest.

Match to be a draw – Everton v Wolves (9/4)

Everton and Wolves have endured similarly difficult starts to the new Premier League season. Indeed, neither team has picked up a single point in the two matches they have played so far with Sean Dyche and Gary O’Neill encountering the same fundamental problem – a lack of goals.

The Toffees are still searching for their first goal of the new season while Wolves’ only goal so far came as a consolation strike in a 4-1 defeat to Brighton. There’s not much reason to believe Saturday’s match at Goodison Park will be a high-quality affair. On balance, both teams might accept a point each just to get off the mark.

Both teams to score – Newcastle v Liverpool (4/9)

Both Newcastle United and Liverpool have flexed their attacking muscle in the early stages of the new season with the former opening their Premier League campaign with a 5-1 demolition of Aston Villa and the latter sweeping aside Bournemouth with a 3-1 victory last weekend. There should be goals when the two teams meet.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League matches while Newcastle lost just two of the 19 league home matches they played last season. Both teams are most dangerous in moments of quick transition and so Sunday’s fixture could be an entertaining encounter for the neutral.

Chelsea can pick up their first win of the new Premier League season against Luton Town on Friday night with Mauricio Pochettino’s team hurting from last weekend’s defeat at West Ham. Chelsea can take encouragement from Raheem Sterling’s performance in that match, though – he should be a threat against Luton.

Luton conceded four against Brighton in their first match of the season and their defence could struggle once more against a Chelsea team that still boasts a lot of quality. Nicolas Jackson will be a threat with the Senegalese striker always keen to get in behind. The Blues should get up and running here.
