Player to score – Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest v West Ham)
West Ham have suffered a horrific start to the 2025/26 season with Nottingham Forest in line to pile the misery on Graham Potter and his players this weekend. The Hammers have conceded no fewer than 11 goals in their last three outings in all competitions, suggesting Forest will have opportunities to find the net.
Chris Wood bagged a brace in Forest’s 3-1 win over Brentford on opening weekend. The New Zealand forward will start up front for the home side and could brutally expose the lack of organisation in the West Ham backline. Wood is a good price to notch his third goal of the campaign.
Under 2.5 total goals – Man Utd v Burnley
Ruben Amorim’s needs a positive result and performance against Burnley on Saturday for the sake of his Manchester United future. The Old Trafford outfit are still without a win three games into the new season, piling pressure on their Portuguese coach, who was flustered after the Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town.
There have been under 2.5 goals in Manchester United’s last five Premier League matches. Despite revamping their forward line over the summer, Amorim’s team is struggling for attacking firepower. Burnley will sit deep and make life difficult for their under-fire opponents.
Match to be a draw – Motherwell v Kilmarnock
Motherwell have been one of the most entertaining teams to watch in the Scottish Premiership this season under new manager Jens Berthel Askou. Last week, the Steelmen scored three goals away to Hearts but allowed a 3-0 lead to slip. Nonetheless, this is a team that has shown it can compete against most.
Kilmarnock also have a new manager in the shape of former Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell and have similarly drawn their first three games of the new league season. Saturday’s meeting at Fir Park could be an encounter decided by the slimmest of margins, meaning there’s a strong chance of a draw.
Both teams to score – Tottenham v Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a strong start to the season under new manager Thomas Frank, but Bournemouth will be tricky opponents this weekend. While Spurs have scored two or more goals in their last five matches against the Cherries in all competitions, Andoni Ireola’s team scored twice in their last away game at Liverpool.
Richardson has looked dangerous so far this season, while Brennan Johnson is fresh from finding the back of the net against Manchester City. This could be a challenging tactical match-up for Spurs, who will have more of the ball than they did against City, but both teams have real attacking quality.
Graham’s Fourfold
Like the sound of Graham’s picks? Think they have legs? Why not roll them all into a fourfold? £10 on the selections above potentially returns £260.
Fancy it?
LIVERPOOL vs ARSENAL
Sunday’s meeting between Liverpool and Arsenal could have an early bearing on the Premier League title race. Both teams have a 100% record coming into the fixture, with the defending champions somewhat vulnerable against Bournemouth and Newcastle. Meanwhile, the Gunners were less than convincing away to Manchester United.
Both teams have found the back of the net in Liverpool’s seven matches. Arsenal have also won at least one half in their last eight league outings. This is a match that could swing either way, but the Gunners look to have a strong chance of taking the early initiative in the title race.
