Galashiels
He didn’t shine for us in two starts on the Flat in the summer, albeit in good company, but hopefully this is more his game. He was a very good horse on the Flat, beating the high-class Goliath in a Listed company among other smart middle-distance performances, so the ability is there. Looking at the French form, he could have done with typical Christmas ground and not the drying conditions and this is a decent race. But let’s see how he gets on.

Manlaga
She won her sole start in France very easily back in March, from a filly now with Willie Mullins. She looks a fair sort, but this will tell us more. It is obviously a tough introduction, straight into a Grade 2 and carrying a 5lb penalty, but hopefully she can give a good account of herself.
