Nico de Boinville

12.05pm Cheltenham

Old Park Star

He joined us from Paul Nicholls in the summer and we couldn’t have been happier with him as he won at Kempton last month. This is a much different test, on softer ground – this is clearly a much deeper race, and he carries a 6lb penalty too – but I was impressed with the way he finished off his race last time.

12.40pm Cheltenham

Califet En Vol

He impressed me as a hurdler and hopefully he can make a better chaser. He won the Sidney Banks after chasing home The New Lion at Newbury, and he ran another good race for a long way over 3m at Aintree on his final start. He actually came home with a nasty injury there, so that may explain his finishing effort, but he is fine now and he is an exciting chase recruit.

1.15pm Cheltenham

Iberico Lord

We were expecting a little better from him in the Greatwood and the handicapper only dropped him 1lb, but we know he is better than that and Tuesday’s rain was a plus for him. He is clearly fairly handicapped if he can return to his best.

3pm Cheltenham

Mister Coffey

He bumped into a rejuvenated Eldorado Allen here last time, and we know he loves these fences. In fact, he arguably ran his best race when a length second to Stumptown in this race last season and he has much to recommend him once again. He will get his head in front one day soon.
