I thought she did it well for me at Warwick last time, so hopefully she can be competitive here off a 5lb higher mark, although that was probably the harshest the handicapper could have been for a length win. The trip and soft ground are fine for her.

1.50pm Sandown

Lulamba

Just the three rivals, but this is a very good race, so the 6lb age allowance could come in very handy. Like I said, you have to fear them all in here but we had to be very happy with Lulamba’s chasing debut at Exeter. More will be needed here, and Sandown is a very good test for a novice, but hopefully he will be sharper and all the better for that Exeter success. He’s a class act, and hopefully the class act in here.

I’m sure many will think he is well up against it here, having been easily beaten by Il Etait Temps in the Celebration Chase here in April and by L’Eau du Sud at Cheltenham on his return, but I’d like to think he will give those two a run for their money. We know he is better than he showed on both of those occasions, he will strip a lot fitter than at Cheltenham, and he is going for a third straight win in the race. He handles testing ground but the less rain the better for him. At his best, they have him to worry about, and hopefully first-time cheekpieces will help him to achieve that.
