JUST two runners for us this Saturday, although we have plenty all dressed up and ready to go but are holding fire until we get some proper rain because it really is still rather quick.
The ground at Worcester on Tuesday was perfect, however, for a few gallopers, which they very kindly allowed us to take, including Constitution Hill, who had a lovely day out with some names you wouldn’t be familiar with.
It was important to let him have a good time and enjoy the experience, which I believe he had; he didn’t jump anything, but had a nice leg stretch and is very much where we want to be at this stage of his training regime.
The plan was to take him to Newbury for their gallops morning on 18th November, and I suspect he probably will go, but if he doesn’t need to, he won’t, so we’ll just wait and see what he tells us. We still very much intend on starting off in the Fighting Fifth on November 29th.

Impose Toi (Nico de Boinville)
He’s not at all flashy in his work at home, so I can’t really tell you what sort of form he’s in, but he does seem to come to life on the racecourse and is actually a very genuine person.
I think he’s ready for three miles and if we’re going to look at the Pertemps, we might as well start him off here. He does have plenty of weight, but he’s a big horse so that shouldn’t be a problem, and the ground will be perfect. I’m happy with him coming into this and he shouldn’t be far away.

Excello (Nico de Boinville)
He won a Graduation Chase at Ascot a couple of years ago and has run some excellent races in defeat since, including in the Topham last April, where he made a terrible blunder two out, which was very unusual because he’s an excellent jumper. He’s been schooled very well since, and the ground won’t be an issue. He galloped at Newbury a week or two ago, which will have blown the cobwebs away, and I rate his chance quite highly.
