Day 4 of The Qatar Goodwood Festival features the King George Qatar Stakes Group 2, which sees the Australian raider Asfoora heading the market at Unibet 2/1 after looking like she was returning to form in the King Charles III Stakes when fifth to American Affair. Big Mojo Unibet 5/1 was marked up in the July Cup when running really well to finish second to No Half Measures, though the question is whether he is still so good over five furlongs.

1:20 Goodwood – Goodwood Handicap (2m 4½f)

Aggagio was sixth in the 2023 renewal when prominent and was in second just over a furlong out until fading late on off a mark of 87. He races here with a rating of 84 after his victory over Spirit Mixer last month in the soft over two miles. That was his first success on the flat for this dual-purpose performer since winning here in September 2022.
Aggagio has a tremendous record at Goodwood with five victories, and he can run a big race with his regular claimer taking off seven pounds.
Unibet 9/2 win

2.30 Goodwood – Mile Handicap (1m)

Greek Order returned from his American adventure and has been in good form since arriving back to these shores. He ran well at Royal Ascot in the Royal Hunt Cup when fourth to the favourite My Cloud and he was then marked up in my Unibet blog for a handicap at Sandown in which he was beaten by the all-the-way-winner Classic, trained by Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon, when doing some good late work for third.
He has a good draw to work with from in stall 2 and has a good chance of securing his first win since August 2023.

Great Chieftain is going for a three timer after beating Classic Encounter at Newmarket in May by one and three-quarter lengths and then he stepped up very nicely at Haydock to beat Dashing Darcey. Remember he won a handicap here at the Qatar Goodwood Festival last year so we know he is effective at the course and Great Chieftain can get in the mix for each way players.

3.45 Goodwood – Regent Seven Seas Cruises Bentinck Conditions Stakes (1m 1f)

Liberty Lane (nap) after two appearances at Ascot simply doesn’t seem to be suited by the course given he finished well down in the field in the Wolferton this year as he had done in the Golden Gates at Royal Ascot in 2023.
On his penultimate appearance at Goodwood, he was successful in the Listed Festival Stakes here over one mile two furlongs, though that trip stretched his stamina to the limit, but this over one mile one furlong is ideal, having won twice over this trip at Newmarket in 2024. He has a small penalty to carry but even with that, looks the best horse in the race, and if returning to form, should take some beating.
