Player to score – Serhou Guirassy (Real Madrid v Dortmund) 39/20

Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will meet in the Club World Cup quarter-finals this weekend in a match that promises to be one of the most exciting of the whole tournament. Xabi Alonso’s side arrive in the final eight having seen off Juventus in the previous round while Dortmund beat Monterrey in the last 16.

Both teams boast in-form strikers, although Gonzalo Garcia might not start for Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappe back. Serhou Guirassy, however, is certain to lead the line for Dortmund having scored three goals in his last three games. The 29-year-old will pose a threat in quick transition.

Under 2.5 total goals – Palmeiras v Chelsea (7/10)

Chelsea are just two games away from the final of the Club World Cup with Enzo Maresca’s side now favourites to reach the showpiece match from their side of the bracket. However, Palmeiras will be difficult opponents with the Brazilians yet to suffer defeat at this summer’s tournament.

Palmeiras edged past Botafogo in the last round by a single goal after keeping clean sheets against Porto and Al Ahly in the group stage. Chelsea will look to control possession, but can sometimes have trouble breaking down low defensive blocks. This could be a cagey affair.

Match to go to penalties – Fluminense v Al-Hilal

Fluminense and Al-Hilal pulled off the two biggest shocks of the round of 16 at the Club World Cup and will meet for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament on Friday. This could be a match decided by the narrowest of margins with both sides intent on playing against the ball, as they did in the last round.

Al-Hilal have speed in quick transition through Malcom and Marcos Leonardo. Fluminense have a similar quality from players like German Cano and Jhon Arias. Both teams have been involved in tight matches at the Club World Cup so far this summer and this could be another one.

Both teams to score – France v England (3/4)

England will kick off their Euro 2022 title defence with an extremely tricky opening group fixture against France on Saturday. Sarina Wiegman’s side have had to deal with retirements and withdrawals of players prior to the tournament, but still have an extremely strong attack that includes Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly and Beth Mead.

This is also where France are strongest with Clara Mateo and Kadidiatou Diani expected to lead the line against the Lionesses. This match will set the tone for the rest of the Women’s Euros for both rivals. England and France certainly have the attacking quality to do damage to each other.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will face each other in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup with both European giants intent on going the distance at this summer’s tournament. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will be one of the biggest attacking threats on the pitch and is a good bet to test Manuel Neuer more than once.

PSG have won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions. Bayern Munich have conceded four goals in their last three games and will be vulnerable in defensive transition against the European champions. This could be one of the most compelling matches of the entire tournament.
