Player to score: Liam Delap (Flamengo v Chelsea) 23/10
Liam Delap made a good first impression for Chelsea in the 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC, coming off the bench for his debut in the Club World Cup. Delap produced an excellent assist for Enzo Fernandes to score the second goal of the game and could be rewarded with a starting spot against Flamengo.
The Brazilians could control a large percentage of possession with Jorginho at the base of the midfield. This will give Delap a lot of space to exploit in behind in quick transition, and the 22-year-old’s impressive debut suggests he will be dangerous in and around the opposition penalty area.
Over 2.5 total goals – River Plate v Monterrey
The easy money might be on Benfica to rack up the goals against part-time Auckland City, just as Bayern Munich did. However, that’s low-hanging fruit and won’t offer much return on your wager. Instead, it might be better value to focus River Plate’s game against Monterrey, which could be one of the standout matches of the weekend.
River are in free-scoring form at the moment, netting three times in their Club World Cup opener against Urawa Red Diamonds. Players like Franco Mastantuono and Facundo Colidio will pose a threat. However, Monterrey also showed their quality in a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan, in which they found the net through a set piece by Sergio Ramos.
Match to be a draw – Flamengo v Chelsea
Flamengo will have their sights set on topping Group D after beating Esperance in their opening match. The Brasileiro leaders were so dominant that they surely fancy their chances of a scalp against Chelsea on Friday. Both teams will want to control the ball, which could limit scoring opportunities.
Chelsea created four Big Chances in their win over LAFC, but Enzo Maresca’s possession-heavy approach can sometimes result in his team lacking attacking threat. This will be a match decided by the narrowest of margins.
Both teams to score – Bayern Munich v Boca Juniors
Bayern Munich and Boca Juniors both made an impact in their opening Club World Cup fixture, albeit in different ways. The German champions put 10 goals past Auckland City to lay down a marker at the start of the tournament. Boca, meanwhile, were involved in a whirlwind 2-2 draw with Benfica.
Boca made good use of direct balls forward against Benfica and could recycle that tactic against Bayern Munich who will play with a high defensive line. Edinson Cavani is still an injury doubt, but the Argentinians should still have enough goal threat to make a competitive game of this encounter.

Manchester City vs Al Ain (UAE) Bet Builder
Manchester City can take another step towards the knockout rounds of the Club World Cup by beating Al Ain on Sunday. Pep Guardiola offered a hint of what City’s next generation will look like in the win over Wydad, playing new signing Rayan Cherki as something of a ‘false nine’ in the forward line.
Al Ain are one of the weakest teams in the tournament and looked it in a 5-0 loss to Juventus, and so City stand a good chance of racking up the goals against the side from the United Arab Emirates. This should be a dominant performance by the Premier League outfit.
