NEWMARKET – Wednesday

1:50
Cayman Tai (Joe Leavy)
On his seasonal debut, he raced with the choke out at Pontefract but plugged on well enough to finish second. With that run under his belt, I’d expect plenty of improvement. This is a step up in grade, but he’s very consistent and will love the ground.

2:25
Seventy (Pat Dobbs)
He’s by Ghaiyyath, whose runners are going pretty well at the moment, and this lad has a bright future. His work is to a decent standard, and he’ll be winning races, but whether he’s quite sharp enough to win first time out, I’m not sure; he’ll want further in time.

Bondi (Joe Leavy)
He’s a colt with a very attractive pedigree who will definitely be suited by going further than a mile. He has been away to gallop, which has really brought him on, and he looks good in his coat.

4:10
Stellenbosch (Ryan Moore)
She has been a non-runner more times than she has actually run, but that’s all down to a couple of minor, frustrating issues. The Gosden filly brings some pretty smart form to the race and might be hard to beat, but Stellenbosch has been working nicely and stays the trip, which gives me confidence.
