Player to score – Joao Pedro (Manchester City v Brighton) 14/5

Manchester City welcome Brighton to the Etihad Stadium in what could be one of the most compelling matches of the weekend. The two teams are separated by just one point in the Premier League table with Brighton on a run of six consecutive victories in all competitions. The Seagulls are flying.

Joao Pedro has found the back of the net three times in his last four games. The Brazilian will give the Manchester City defence problems with his movement and there’s good reason to believe Brighton will score at least once at the Etihad Stadium – they haven’t drawn a blank in any of their last six matches.

Under 2.5 total goals – Everton v West Ham (16/25)

The David Moyes Derby will take place at Goodison Park this weekend when Everton host West Ham. The Toffees come into the game on the back of three consecutive draws while West Ham have lost three of their last five league matches. Saturday’s encounter could be a cagey one.

The Hammers have struggled for firepower under new manager Graham Potter. This is reflected in how there has been under 2.5 goals in six of West Ham’s last seven Premier League matches. Meanwhile, Everton haven’t been at their attacking best in recent outings against Brentford and Wolves.

Match to be a draw – Bournemouth v Brentford (3/1)

Bournemouth are chasing Champions League qualification, but have won just one of their last four matches in all competitions. Andoni Iraola’s team have suffered something of a drop-off recently and Brentford’s ability on the counter-attack could cause the Cherries further problems this weekend.

Brentford have scored two or more goals in their last four matches against Bournemouth in all competitions. What’s more, the Bees are unbeaten in their last six meetings with the south coast outfit. This could be an entertaining encounter between two overachieving teams.

Both teams to score – Atletico Madrid v Barcelona (12/25)

Atletico Madrid will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing exit from the Champions League during the week with a win over Barcelona to boost their chances of winning La Liga. Diego Simeone’s side have already beaten Barca once this season and will hoping to do their double over their Catalan rivals.

Barca are the top scorers in this season’s La Liga, but Hansi Flick’s high line will give Atleti opportunities on the break. This could be good news for Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann who have scored 18 league goals between them this season. This is a match with genuine title race jeopardy.

Liverpool and Newcastle United meet in the Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with the first piece of silverware of the season on the line. The Magpies are looking to make history by winning their first trophy in nearly 56 years, but Arne Slot’s team will surely be too strong for their opposition from the North East.

Anthony Gordon will miss out through suspension with Lewis Hall unavailable through injury. These two absences could have a big impact on the Newcastle attack with Mohamed Salah a good bet to continue his incredible season with a strike in the Carabao Cup final.
