Kientzheim
We had three in here at the five-day stage and we rely on Kientzheim, who won very well for me in a maiden hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day. This is obviously a stiffer test, and she carries a 3lb penalty, but she is clearly a lightly-raced mare, and open to plenty of improvement, so we’d be hopeful of a big show.
Joyeuse
It’s probably fair to say she didn’t get the run of the race when second over 2m4f at Cheltenham last time. She went up 4lb for that defeat and steps back to 2m here, but hopefully there is improvement in her after just the three hurdle starts and a strongly-run race at this trip will suit. It’s obviously a hugely competitive race, though.
