A very busy Saturday ahead with Haydock featuring two Group 2 races with the Temple Stakes and Sandy Lane Stakes, whilst there are cards at Goodwood, York and Chester in the afternoon.
Over at the Curragh the feature is the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas Group 1 in which Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon has a strong chance of having a 1-2 with favourite Rosallion Unibet 5/6 and Haatem Unibet 6/1. Rosallion travelled powerfully throughout the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket when looking a very classy performer and was only passed by the winner Notable Speech in the final furlong. Rosallion finished 1¾ lengths clear of stablemate Haatem, who is getting the recognition he deserves after his Craven victory and excellent run in the 2,000 Guineas. The Irish challenge is headed by River Tiber and Unquestionable, however the Richard Hannon runners have the edge.
At Haydock it is hard to oppose Vandeek Unibet 4/6 in the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes who remains unbeaten after 4 starts. He is a true sprinter and he looked brilliant in the Middle Park Stakes when beating Task Force and will win here on route to the Commonwealth Cup.
Enjoy whether at a racecourse or watching #athome on ITV Racing and Racing TV.
Looking forward to heading to Goodwood.
Cheers
The Wine Tipster
1.30 Goodwood – Harroways Handicap (7f)
The Camden Colt for Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannonfinished four lengths behind Volterra (runs Haydock 1.15) over a mile on the Rowley Mile at the Guineas Festival when giving the winner 8lbs. Volterra has been raised 9lbs for that success, while The Camden Colt remains on the same mark of 89. The Camden Colt drops back to 7f, has Alec Voikhansky claiming 3lbs and with the dry conditions looks overlooked in this competitive handicap.

1:50 Haydock – Temple Stakes Group 2 (5f)
Vadream will relish the soft, heavy in places ground conditions with 46mm of rain having fallen earlier in the week and whilst it looks dry from mid-morning on Friday it will be testing. With the ground having come right for Vadream she can beat Live In The Dream on the same terms as when they met in the Palace House last season.
Live In The Dream improved to win the Nunthorpe later in the season, but his best form has come on quicker, and he’ll surely need this after his winter break. Vadream, on the other hand, is coming into form nicely, third on reappearance at Bath and then only just denied by Seven Questions in this year’s Palace House at Newmarket.

2:05 Goodwood – Height Of Fashion Stakes Listed (1m 2f)
Francophone is progressing smoothly, and her form looks stronger by the day, with Battle Queen, who she beat at Southwell, successful earlier in the week and she followed that success with an excellent second in the Musidora Group 3 at York to Secret Satire. The ground here should be ideal, and Francophone can hold off Regal Jubilee, who is the main challenger on the back of her second in the Fred Darling.

3:20 York – Bronte Cup Fillies’ Stakes (1m 6f)
Gather Ye Rosebuds (nap) is a lightly-raced 4-y-o making her seventh career appearance, having only started her career last season but made an immediate impression when winning very impressively on her debut at Newbury, and her subsequent poor effort in the Musidora can be put down to the fast ground, which she hated. Since then she’s twice been a winner when there’s cut in the ground, including last time out at Goodwood in the soft when she took her form to a new level over 1m 4f in defeating the unexposed Queen Of The Pride, the pair nicely clear. She looks the type to keep progressing this year and this trip should suit her too as well as the conditions with the going on Friday morning good to soft, soft in places.

3.30 Haydock – Nifty Fifty Hell Nook Handicap (2m)
Divine Comedy was successful three times in 2023, winning on good to firm, good and soft so will not be affected by the conditions at Haydock. She has only once run over this trip, which was at Kempton on the all-weather on her penultimate start, when a staying on third to Sir Chauvelin in a Class 2 with Vino Victrix fifth and Enemy sixth so the form looks good. On seasonal debut Divine Comedy last month at Doncaster she finished third to Flash Bardot over 1m 4f and the mare was doing her best work at the finish under a hands-and-heels ride on her first appearance in 6 months. Divine Comedy clearly still has all the ability and will be much sharper over this distance, which looks ideal for the 6-y-o mare at this stage of her career.
