1.15pm Ayr

Persian Time

He got back on track with a battling win at Kempton last time, showing a really good attitude, and a 3lb rise is probably fair without being generous for that neck victory. He finished a good second at this meeting last year, and he would appreciate it if dried out further. It also helps that the race has cut up a fair bit at the overnight stage.

2.25pm Ayr

He comes here fresh after missing Cheltenham and Aintree, and he has had a wind op since we last saw him finishing a good third under a big penalty in the Unibet Hurdle last time. I reckon a mark of 143 gives him chances here and I expect a better run from him than in this race last season, when he finished a soundly beaten eighth. He is 7lb lower this time around, but we could do with the ground drying out for him.

4.45pm Ayr

Choccabloc

He probably just about ran a career-best when fifth in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time, especially as he carried a penalty there, and I can see him going well here, though the Irish may hold the aces with their horses, notably the Martin Pipe third Quai De Bourbon and the unexposed Billericay Dickie for Willie Mullins.

5.20pm Ayr

Califet En Vol

This is his first start for us after he joined the stable after finishing second in his point in December. We like what we have seen from him, but obviously this well tell us a lot more, and it could be a hot little race.
