1.15pm Kempton

Fantastic Lady

She ran well in the Sefton on her return, but not so well at Doncaster last time, so we switch her back to hurdles. She hasn’t been seen over them for nearly three years but at least she is 5lb lower in this sphere, so let’s see how she gets on.

Arclight

She has a fair bit to find with the likes of Le Patron but she gets 11lb from him, and upwards of 6lb from the rest, so that levels the playing field and I think she has a very decent chance in this. And Nickle Back not running makes life easier for us all. Arclight has obviously come a long way since winning here off a mark of just 116 in October, and I have been impressed with her at Exeter and Wincanton since, proving her stamina for 2m4f on the latter track when she beat a good subsequent winner. Ideally, she may want better ground but she has won twice on soft, so hopefully that won’t be an issue. It’s a big step up in class, but she is improving nicely.

Tweed Skirt

The less rain for her the better, and she certainly has her chance here if the ground isn’t too bad come race-day. In fact, she’d have a very decent one. She was impressive when winning here over Christmas, and she ran another fair race when third to Marie’s Rock when switched to hurdles last time. She went up 8lb for her chase win here in December, but hopefully she can still be competitive here.

Notorious Pink

She clearly has to step up a good deal on her debut at Wincanton to figure here but she is related to a lot of winners and we’d like to think she is much better than that first run. We will see, though. She runs in first-time cheekpieces.
