ASCOT

12:55 Novices’ Hurdle

Excello (Nico De Boinville)

He’s an ex-Frenchie who is still a novice over hurdles, so it made sense to start off here and he joined the squad we took to Windsor a couple of weeks ago, because he a big gross horse who takes quite a bit of work, but I do think he could be quite exciting. He’s already schooled over fences but is only a novice in that sphere until the end of next week so we’ll stick to timber for the time being and go chasing next year.

1:30 G2 Chase

Shishkin (Nico De Boinville)

The original plan was the Betfair but I don’t think a slog around Haydock on very testing ground is what he wants, especially first time out, and the ground here will be much better. He likes the track, and while 2m5f might actually be on the short side nowadays, he won over course and distance in the Ascot Chase and the cheekpieces will help him concentrate. He’s done plenty of work so shouldn’t be found wanting in that department.

2:05 G2 Hurdle

Theatre Glory (Nico De Boinville)

She’s a very tough filly who is extremely talented and two and a half on good to soft around Ascot looks tailor made and I’m looking forward to running her. She receives a bit of weight from her male counterparts and has a chance in a wide open race. She doesn’t do much at home so it’s hard to gauge how fit she really is but Katy, who rides her everyday, is happy with her, so let’s hope for a bold show.

2:40 Mares’ Hcap Hurdle

Go Chique (Nico De Boinville)

We kept her pretty busy during the summer, because she has to have decent ground, which is why we’re coming here, and she managed to rip a front shoe off at Exeter last time which explains that. This is quite a good race, but she’s fit and well so might as well take her chance.

3:50 Bumper

Tradecraft (Nico De Boinville)

He’s a lovely son by sire of the moment, Blue Bresil, who was here in the spring and showed more than enough to suggest he’d be up to winning a bumper, and we nearly ran him, but the ground just beat us, so we put him away for the summer. He’s grown a lot, and it won’t be long before he goes over hurdles, because he jumps very nicely, but I thought a run in a bumper won’t do him any harm.

HAYDOCK

1:15 Hcap Hurdle

Park Hill Dancer (James Bowen)

He’s an extremely consistent and likeable person having notched up two nice victories in the spring, the latest on Handicap debut. He’s now up to a mark of 123 but is improving all the time and should handle the ground.

2:20 Hcap Hurdle

Bold Endeavour (James Bowen)

Shouldering top weight won’t be easy but he’s a very consistent horse and might’ve come on a bit for his run at Newbury, too. He’s in no man’s land because he’s not quite a Graded horse but is still highly rated so we don’t have that many options to be honest with you. We could jump a fence again if we need to, but we’ll stick to hurdles for the time being and hopefully he can run well.

HUNTINGDON

12:28

Lucky Place (Robbie Dunne)

He would’ve learnt a lot from his Bumper at Huntingdon in the spring and is a horse we quite like. He’s all schooled up and ready to jumping, but another run in a race like this will bring him on nicely and he has a bright future but the Ben Pauling horse could be extremely smart, having finished second to one of ours at Ascot last time – which is good form.
