WE’RE taking a few horses to Windsor in the morning for a gallop around the track and enjoy a day away, which is always nice for them as we start to gear up towards the new season.

We worked quite a few on the grass along the Farringdon Road for the first time last week, but Windsor offered us the opportunity and with various deadlines coming up, the timing fits quite nicely.

If we are going to go for the Betfair Chase with Shishkin, now is a very good time for him to have a day out, which will blow the cobwebs away, so he’ll go for a spin around along with Jonbon, who I am very seriously considering starting off in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham in November.

Dusart is in particularly good form and will join the squad because he needs to do something.

The Charlie Hall might come a bit too soon for Chantry House, but this gallop will tell us more and he could end up in something like the Coral Gold Cup; he’ll go along anyway and have a nice time.

I’m looking at the Mares Hurdle at Wetherby for Luccia, so she will also join the ‘away day’ team and I have a nice ex Frenchie called Excello, who I want to run in some novice chases, and he looks as though a nice piece of work won’t do him any harm.

All is well with Constitution Hill but I don’t need him until December 2nd, so I’ll save his away day until the gallops morning at Newbury in a few weeks’ time.

Keep your eyes peeled for the 60 minute Nicky Henderson Video Stable Tour dropping on Tuesday morning at @SevenBarrows and @UnibetRacing
