Player to score – Luis Diaz (Liverpool v Everton)
Liverpool are looking to return to winning ways in Saturday’s Merseyside Derby after a defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and a draw against Brighton in their last two Premier League outings. Luis Diaz has started seven of the eight league games he has played so far this season and so is expected to feature from the start this weekend.
Diaz has only found the back of the net three times for Liverpool this season, but Everton will likely sit deep on Saturday and that could mean the hosts have to produce something from outside the box and this is where the Colombian will be a threat.
Over 2.5 total goals – Manchester City v Brighton
Manchester City enter this weekend on the back of successive league defeats to Wolves and Arsenal and Brighton will present another difficult test. The Seagulls have been an extremely dangerous attacking outfit this season – there have been over 2.5 goals in Brighton last nine Premier League matches.
City have scored just one goal in their last two league games, but they have still managed to score 17 times in eight fixtures. Saturday’s clash at the Etihad Stadium promises to produce goals and Brighton might even fancy their chances of claiming a result at the home of last season’s Treble winners.
Match to be a draw – Bournemouth v Wolves
Andoni Ireola needs some points on the board to ease the mounting pressure on his Bournemouth team. Indeed, the Cherries are still searching for their first league win of the season which is why Saturday’s home fixture against Wolves – now led by former manager Gary O’Neill – presents such an opportunity.
Wolves have drawn two of their last three matches and face a relegation battle of their own this season. Pedro Neto will be a threat to the Bournemouth defence, but O’Neill’s team have won just one of their five away matches so far this season in all competitions. A share of the spoils could be on the cards.
Both teams to score – Aston Villa v West Ham
Just two points separates Aston Villa and West Ham in the Premier League table with both teams enjoying a relatively successful start to the season. Villa have won three of their last four league games while the Hammers have the same record in all competitions. The pair are currently playing with confidence.
There have been over 2.5 goals in six of West Ham’s last seven Premier League matches. David Moyes’ team will likely sit back and allow Aston Villa to control the ball before hitting out on the counter attack. This could suit the Hammers, but the hosts will still carry significant threat, primarily through the in-form Ollie Watkins.

Chelsea have shown signs of turning a corner after winning their last three matches in all competitions, but Saturday’s home fixture against Arsenal presents a different sort of test. The Gunners have won their last four matches against Chelsea in all competitions and are unbeaten in their last nine league outings.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team haven’t always made their pressure count in terms of goals this season, but injuries have cleared up in recent weeks and Chelsea are doing a better job of finding the back of the net of late. Arsenal, however, still have the strength to come out on top.
