Player to score – Vinicius Junior (R Madrid v Atletico)
Vinicius Junior was in sparkling form for Real Madrid as they scored five goals against Liverpool in the Champions League earlier this week and the Brazilian winger will be a threat in this weekend’s Madrid derby as well. Real Madrid have won their last five matches in all competitions and are favourites to beat Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
Five goals in four matches is the mark of a player in form and Vinicius is certainly a key difference-maker for Carlo Ancelotti’s team. Atleti lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at home earlier in the season and Diego Simeone’s side will find it difficult to stop their city rivals from finding the back of the net at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Under 1.5 total goals – Tottenham v Chelsea
Graham Potter has suffered a difficult start to life as Chelsea manager with the Blues winning just two of their last 14 fixtures in all competitions. Pressure is building on the former Brighton boss and this weekend’s trip to take on London rivals Tottenham Hotspur could pile on even more misery.
There have been under 2.5 total goals scored in 10 of Chelsea’s last 11 games in the Premier League while Spurs have scored more than once in just one of their last four matches (in all competitions). This London derby could be decided by the narrowest of margins. Don’t count on many goals.
Match to be a draw – Leicester v Arsenal
Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table last weekend with a much-needed away win over Aston Villa. The Gunners are back on the road this weekend with Mikel Arteta’s team set to face Leicester City. This could be a difficult tactical match-up for Arsenal on the basis of their recent performances.
Leicester will sit deep just as Everton and Brentford did before hitting out on the counter-attack. While Brendan Rodgers’ team lost 3-0 to Manchester United last weekend, they scored a combined eight goals against Aston Villa and Tottenham in the two matches before that. They will carry a threat.
Both teams to score – B Munich v Union Berlin
There is an exciting top-of-the-table clash in the Bundesliga this weekend with Bayern Munich hosting Union Berlin. The two teams are tied on points with the latter keeping pace with the 10-times defending champions. There is a lot riding on the outcome of Sunday’s match at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich have shown themselves to be vulnerable against quick counter-attacking teams this season and Union Berlin will test them in that regard. Julian Nagelsmann’s team might be favourites to claim all three points, but the visitors have the quality to hurt them in their own stadium.
GRAHAM’S BET BUILDER
Fulham take on Wolves under the lights at Craven Cottage with both sides desperate for the three points. Fulham are eyeing those European spots while Julen Lopetegui’s men are battling against the drop.
Fulham’s 1-0 defeat of Brighton at the weekend was indicative of their season; low-scoring, but tight at the back. Wolves have certainly tightened up since Lopetegui’s arrival and the Old Gold are increasingly becoming harder to score against; it’s just their profligacy at the other end that’s costing them.
A tight game of cat and mouse, then? Perhaps. Check out Graham’s bet builder. £10 potentially returns £49.
