THE final day of The November Meeting at Cheltenham which has seen some excellent Festival pointers. The Unibet Greatwood Hurdle looks an exciting renewal with Thousand Years Unibet 4/1  and Dads Lad 5/1 heading the market, whilst as ever there are good each way opportunities here, with Unibet paying five places and Severance and Harbour Lake are my selections.

The Grade 2 Shloer Chase sees Edwardstone heading the market at Unibet 4/6 ahead of his main rival Nube Negra Unibet 5/4. Edwardstone was a good hurdler and showed last season what a good chaser he is with five wins from seven starts. The highlights were his victory at Sandown in the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices’ and his brilliant success in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival. He is a fantastic jumper and he can hold off Nube Negra, who will be spot on for his reappearance.

Enjoy whether at Cheltenham or watching #athome on ITV Racing and Racing TV.

Cheers

2.20 Cheltenham – Jewson Handicap Chase (3m 3½f)

Does He Know fell on seasonal debut at the first fence at Kelso last month, which was the first fall of his career and providing that this hasn’t knocked his confidence he can win. Last season he won at the October meeting, which was his third victory at the home of jump racing, and he was second at the November meeting. He won at Ascot in February before disappointing at The Festival after a good season. Does He Know can get back to winning ways and score his fourth victory at Cheltenham.

Unibet 7/2

Forgot To Ask has been very consistent and can go close here for the inform Tom George team on ground that will suit. He showed that he was in good form at Chepstow last month when second to Some Chaos and on his first visit to Cheltenham has each way claims.

Unibet 11/1 each way

2.55 Cheltenham – Unibet Greatwood Hurdle (2m ½f)

Severance (nap) a horse I have followed throughout his flat and jumps career has always looked like he can win a prestigious race like the Unibet Greatwood Hurdle. He ran well in handicaps last season, with a second to Cormier in January at Cheltenham, he was then in the same place at Aintree to Hacker Des Places and then was a runner-up in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock. Severance had a warmup at Ffos Las last month when third to Effernock Fizz and this will have put him spot on to run a big race.

Unibet 11/1 each way

Harbour Lake has raced five times in his career and won on four occasions, whilst in his other start he was brought down. He has progressed well last season and showed on his seasonal debut at Market Rasen last month when winning well that he is still improving. That trip was over two miles four and half furlongs and the drop back in trip will not be a problem as this is a much stiffer course.

Unibet 14/1 each way

3.30 Cheltenham – Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle Grade 2 (2m ½f)

Springwell Bay was narrowly beaten in a bumper at the Punchestown Festival behind Adamantly Chosen with the first two well clear. He was then sold for a six-figure sum and joined Jonjo O’ Neill where he won on debut at Market Rasen last November. Springwell Bay was then off with a mishap and returned to racing at Carlisle last month when winning with ease. He can step up in class here and looks an exciting prospect.

Unibet 11/4 win
