Player to score – Callum Wilson (Southampton v Newcastle)

Newcastle United have emerged as genuine top four contenders in recent weeks with Eddie Howe’s team winning five of their last six Premier League matches. The Magpies beat Tottenham Hotspur in their last away match and they can underline the progress they have made this season by making it four straight victories away to Southampton this weekend.

Callum Wilson has become a driving force for Newcastle, scoring three goals in his last two games and six in his last 10. Southampton have kept just one clean sheet in the Premier League so far this season, suggesting the Magpies will get opportunities to find the back of the net at St Mary’s Stadium.

Player to be carded – Diogo Dalot (Aston Villa v Manchester United)

No Manchester United player has improved like Diogo Dalot has this season, but the Portuguese right back is also prone to picking up a booking – Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay are the only United players to have been shown more yellow cards in the Premier League so far this season.

Leon Bailey will be a threat on the wing for Aston Villa with the Jamaican international averaging more dribbles per 90 minutes (1.3) than any other Villa player. Unai Emery will surely look to make good use of Bailey in moments of quick transition and that could put Dalot in harm’s way. He will be forced into some difficult positions.

Match to be a draw – Juventus v Inter

Juventus were put out of their Champions League misery during the week, but the Old Lady have been in resurgent form of late in Serie A where they have won three games in-a-row. On top of this, Juve have kept a clean sheet in each of those three games with Max Allegri keen to go back to basics to get his team’s season back on track.

Inter will also enter this match in good form with Simone Inzaghi’s team winning all of their last four games in the league. Two of the last six meetings between Juve and Inter have ended in a draw and both teams might take a point apiece from this weekend’s fixture to keep their unbeaten Serie A runs going.

Both teams to score – Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur have rediscovered their groove after a difficult stretch that saw them suffer back-to-back defeats to Manchester United and Newcastle United with wins over Bournemouth and Marseille pointing Antonio Conte’s team in the right direction again. Sunday’s match against Liverpool will be a tougher test, though.

Spurs have conceded two or more goals in their last three Premier League matches while Liverpool have found the back of the net in 11 of their last 12 games in all competitions. These are two flawed teams, but there’s good reason to believe they will make the most of their attacking talent on Sunday.

Chelsea are without a win in their last three Premier League fixtures while Arsenal have won five of their last six leagues games, drawing the other one. The Gunners are in exceptional form and have won at least one half in their last six matches while Graham Potter’s Chelsea have failed to keep a clean sheet since a goalless draw against Brentford last month.

Gabriel Jesus hasn’t scored since the North London derby win over Tottenham at the start of October, but the Brazilian is averaging the highest Expected Goals (xG) per 90 minutes of any Arsenal player this season (0.60). He is overdue a goal and should get opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
