DONCASTER – THURSDAY

2:00 Weatherbys Sales Stakes

Magical Sunset (Sean Levey)

The form of her debut win at Windsor has worked out pretty well (second won since) and she’s a filly we’ve always thought a great deal of. The fact she was able to score first time up shows what a decent horse she is because she wasn’t fully tuned up so I’d be expecting her to improve plenty for it. These Sales races are always hard to win but they’re very lucrative and hopefully this filly will develop into a Pattern Class performer.

Hectic (Pat Dobbs)

I’ll admit, I was a little bit disappointed after the Acomb last time but perhaps he didn’t quite get home because he travelled very well before fading in the final furlong, so the slight step back in distance should hopefully help. He’s entered in some nice races and if they are to be justified he’d need to put up a big show.

Swift Asset (Jim Crowley)

He’s been a little in and out but is very good when things go his way and I’m sure there’s a decent race in him somewhere along the line. The jury’s still out with regards to this trip for him but, being by Profitable, he won’t mind the ground if it turns up soft, and if he stays I wouldn’t be surprised to see him run a big race.
