THE Unibet Summer Plate Ladies’ Day at Market Rasen is a Unibet sponsored card, featuring seven races at this very popular Lincolnshire course. This high-profile summer jumps meeting includes the Unibet Horserace Betting Operator Of The Year Handicap Hurdle, The Unibet 15 To Go Summer Handicap Hurdle and Unibet Summer Plate Handicap Chase, which looks like it will be run at a very strong pace with no fewer than six of the field winning from the front last time out. Note that inform trainer Peter Bowen loves to target this race and has Francky Du Berlais looking to follow up on his 2021 success and stablemate Statuario looking to open his account for the season after three seconds.
Market Rasen have been clear on how much they have been watering this week with 10mm each day, which benefits everyone in knowing what to expect in having good safe jumping ground on Saturday.
Enjoy Market Rasen whether on course or watching #athome on ITV and Racing TV.
Cheers

2.06 Market Rasen – Unibet Horserace Betting Operator Of The Year Handicap Hurdle (2m 7f)
Ask Paddington (nap) can make it a four-timer this season and strike for the third time at Market Rasen for the Rebecca Menzies team. Ask Paddington has won his last three starts, with two victories at Market Rasen and a success at Hexham with something in hand each time. He is stepping up in trip for the first time for Rebecca Menzies and this shouldn’t be a concern, as Ask Paddington likes to be held up ahead of making a late challenge, whilst he has shown himself to be suited by the quick conditions.

Cirque Royale for Irish trainer Gerard Quinn can make it three in a row when travelling to these shores and hold off Galata Bridge, who certainly has similar credentials, with a flat rating in the 90s and a good win last time out. Cirque Royale, trained on the flat by Charlie Appleby, won comfortably at Perth in a maiden hurdle and then easily followed up at Kelso beating Ted Hastings, who won on his next start. Cirque Royale has been given an opening mark of 123, which looks fair, and this step up in class is well within his compass on good ground that will suit.
Unibet 3/1 win
Ingleby Hollow is the natural each-way selection in these handicaps for the Rebecca Menzies team. In fact, he really should have won this race last year, with his jockey picking the wrong route late on and he simply couldn’t get an out. Beaten just over a length in fifth, with anything like a clear run he’d have been in front before the line. At Haydock, back in May, he finished fourth at 33/1 in a competitive Swinton Hurdle coming from off the pace as he always does. Ingleby Hollow pays for his sheer consistency with a mark that basically doesn’t move, but he’ll travel as well as all of his rivals and if he gets the breaks this time, he’ll be finishing as strongly as anything.

3.14 Market Rasen – Unibet Summer Plate Handicap Chase (2m 5½f)
Statuario trained by Peter Bowen can come out on top after finishing second on his three starts this season. Last time out he was runner-up to Maher’s Promise (reopposes here) in the Summer Plate Trial, when looking like he was travelling the best turning for home ahead of making his challenge. He kept on well that day and it would be good to see more use made of his stamina in the Summer Plate. Statuario on his two previous starts had run over shorter trips when finishing second on both occasions. There is no doubt that this has been Statuario’s target and he can gain first success of this season with conditions to suit.

Rostello catches the eye at the foot of the handicap. He won as easily as he liked at Stratford last week on good ground, a victory for which he picks up a penalty (still leaves him 1lb out of the handicap) and he finished off there like a fresh horse over a furlong further than this trip. It is important to stay a little further than this distance, which he does and if he jumps as well as he did at Stratford, he’s a threat to all coming from off a very strong pace.

Miami Girl for Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon, who has won this race three times in the last five years has strong claims. Miami Girl was very impressive on her Newmarket debut, and has kept that form since, finishing a good fifth in the Queen Mary, when marked up in my Unibet blog. Next time out she won at Windsor recording a good speed figure.Miami Girl is well weighted and can come from off the pace her from stall 16.

Land Of Summer also trained by Unibet Ambassador Richard Hannon, was seven lengths behind Meditate, finishing unplaced in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, after being prominent early on. At Kempton on her penultimate start, she was second to Speriamo, having won going away at Brighton on debut. Land Of Summer has each way claims from stall 13.
