NEWMARKET – TUESDAY

1:15 2yo Maiden Fillies’

Powerdress (Sean Levey)

She’s a quick filly by Dandy Man, who is the same sire as Happy Romance, and has been doing everything right and is ready to go. She’ll improve, like a lot of ours, but will develop into a lovely horse going forward and while she’s no good thing first time out she’ll certainly be winning races.

2:25 Listed Free H’cap

Tacarib Bay (Ryan Moore)

I think he’s a nice horse – maybe even a very good horse. He ran quite green on debut at Haydock last May but his class got him through and he won well. After which we didn’t see him until October because when he got back home after his first run he jumped off the back of the lorry and gave himself two stress fractures which understandably took time to recover from. But he came back in the Horris Hill and put up a good effort to finish third, only beaten a couple of lengths. His work has been good and he’s in the Guineas so would need to run well here if we’re going to consider going down that route. We’ll try and hold him up a bit.

3:35 G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes

System (Sean Levey)

She’s a tough filly who has filled out nicely over the winter but she’s more likely to run in the Handicap on Wednesday.

4:10 3yo Maiden Fillies

Pride Aside (Ryan Moore)

She is a nice filly who had her issues last year which is why she never ran but her work has always been excellent and she’s from a good family so we hope she has a bright future. She does lack the experience of some of the others but we’ve done plenty at home and I’m really hoping our patience will be rewarded and she shows us something.

4:45 Hcap

Thunder Max (Silvestre De Sousa)

I was delighted with his first run back at Doncaster last month and that will have sharpened him up nicely. Obviously he’s still very unexposed and I do think there is improvement to come.
