2:10 County Hurdle

Broomfield Burg (Jonjo O’Neill Jr)

We quite fancied him in the Betfair Hurdle last time but unfortunately things didn’t pan out and he was quite keen but this is a bigger field and they’re likely to go off at a decent gallop which will suit and he’s a horse we’ve always liked. I’m not sure he entirely wants it that soft but the ground is drying out all the time and I think he has a pretty solid chance here.

First Street (Nico De Boinville)

He ran an excellent race in the Betfair Hurdle and has a very similar profile to Broomfield Burg in that he’s still progressing and has plenty of talent. This is obviously very competitive, as you’d expect, but he’s in very good form and goes there with strong claims.

Chantry House (Nico De Boinville)

He wasn’t that impressive in the Cotswold Chase last time but got the job done which is all you can ask for and he’s got a good record at the track. I don’t think I’ve seen such a wide open Gold Cup for quite some time because you can make a case for pretty much everything in the field. His work has been good and he schooled beautifully earlier this week so he goes there in as good a form as we can get and I wouldn’t rule him out with plenty in his favour.
