Balco Coastal

We like to think he is weighted to go well here. He was a smart bumper horse and impressive in his opening two novice hurdles wins, and then he improved when second to North Lodge over an extended 2m4f in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham last time. He obviously stayed there but maybe this 2m trip suits him a touch better in what looks set to be a well-run race, and the winner didn’t let the form down when just beaten at Kelso last week. We’d be hopeful of a good run here, but there are 22 in the race and it is hugely competitive.

Luccia

I wasn’t on board for her Warwick win but she clearly impressed in beating what appeared to be a well-fancied horse in second, and the third has run okay since, too. She is a half-sister to a decent hurdler of ours in Hooper and hopefully she can figure in what is obviously a much stronger race here, though Mullenbeg is very much the one to beat.
