Sandown Park – Friday

1.50pm

Bothwell Bridge

He proved himself a good staying novice hurdler last season, winning twice before running well below par when pulled up in the Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree on his final start. He has had his wind done, he has pleased us in his preparation for this and he should be making his presence felt off a mark of 131 on his chasing debut if everything goes to plan. He obviously stays further but trip and ground are fine, too.

3.35pm

William Henry

I had some great days on him when he was with Nicky, winning a National Spirit and a Coral Cup. He is an 11yo now, turning 12, but the handicapper has given him a chance by dropping him to a mark of 149 and he has always gone well when fresh in the past.
