Nathan Aspinall v Gary Anderson

This is the kind of game that Aspinall wakes up in the morning for. Whilst some of the legends are still throwing and gracing stages, Nathan wants to take them on. He plays his best brand of darts when he has bucket loads of adrenaline pumping and even though Gary won’t throw any back at him, The Asp will manufacture it to do what he needs to. He will however need to find his best game of the campaign to guarantee the win because Anderson has been a tad milky getting wins and draws he maybe shouldn’t have.

Trust me when I say this, Gary hasn’t played anywhere near his best in this PL and he is still hoovering up points to the chagrin of the people letting them slip on the floor. This will make Gary laugh because he knows that he found wins in last years Worlds and Matchplay when he wasn’t playing at 100%. He seems to do it a lot lately.

Having said all of that, I think Gary will pick up points here again and will earmark this as 2-points or bust. It could be the night for the real Gary to stand up.

Anderson to win – 31/20

All 12 legs to be played – 49.50

Jonny Clayton v Michael Van Gerwen

Jonny Clayton loves playing MVG, probably more than anyone in the world right now. He has had decent success against Michael too. I am not sure there is anyone who respects JC more than MVG as well, as they have become firm pals over the last few years.

The days of Michael dominating PL league phases is over and the way the points have been shared in 2021 is testament to how strong all players are, but nobody embodies the new breed more than Clayton, and this may be the match that MVG wants to win more than any other to send a message to all the players who want his dominant era to never return. If he thinks that way, he will turn the heat up and cause the stage to blaze into an inferno.

This will be the game of the night and will have 12 legs, but it could go any which way for the win, or indeed the draw. Lots of maximums too are what I expect, so pick your spot.

All 12 legs to be played, and there to be over 6.5 x 180’s in the match – 17.5

WIN A UNIBET PREMIER LEAGUE OF DARTS SIGNED BOARD

Jose De Sousa v Peter Wright

Both have got 9-darters in Premier Leagues now and thats no accident considering just how many 180’s these players hit. If these guys start with the right mood on that sixty, there could be a new record for 180’s in a PL league phase match here. Jose already has equalled the record of most by an individual in a match, so why not go for another record?

Peter will understand that he will need his 180 boots and his top notch stuff to get points here, and with some personal motivation at the back of his mind, he will want to put on a show.

I personally think you should leave the result alone in this one, and get on the 180’s here. Honestly, it could get a little silly, and I hope it does.

Over 7.5 x 180’s in the match – 3/4
