He seems to have lost his way a bit in the past two years or so but that means he at least joins us off a falling mark, and a good one if we can get back to him to the level that saw win over hurdles in 2018. He had form in deep ground when he was trained on the Flat too, so the potential for a big run off a low mark is there.

He ran perfectly well when third in an Albert Bartlett trial at Cheltenham last time but I would be hoping he is a bit better than that. Don’t get me wrong, the bare form of that run last time puts him in with every chance in this competitive Grade 2, but I just feel there is more to come from him. Three miles in soft ground around here will be perfect for him.

I have ridden him a few times in the past, including when winning on him back on 2018, and hopefully he is ready to bounce back to form after a couple of recent runs. He has been eased in the weights and 3m in this ground is not a problem.
