He came to us after showing ability in bumpers and winning a couple of points and, although he was beaten, we had to be delighted with his first run for us over hurdles at Lingfield back in October. The winner is a progressive horse, so I think a 2lb rise for that second is probably fair enough. This is a competitive little handicap – our recent Leicester winner Avoid De Master obviously has a fair chance too, while Crossley Tender is clearly on an impressive roll – but we know conditions will suit and I’d be disappointed if there isn’t more to come from him.
