Mister Fisher

This clearly will not be easy off a mark of 155 but at least he deserves it after what he did last season. We have always thought the world of him and he was very good when winning here and at Doncaster before going to the Festival. He didn’t quite deliver in the Marsh there but he ran a great race to finish fourth in what was clearly a strong renewal of that contest. The ground looks like being perfect for him on Saturday – though there is rain due – and he has delighted us in his preparation, from both a work and schooling perspective. He hopefully has the class and potential to put up a bold show here.

On The Blind Side

He was chasing for all of last season before his jumpers’ bumper win at Newcastle in February, and we haven’t seen him over hurdles since his second in the Grade 2 Select Hurdle at Sandown last year. I’d like to think he returns to hurdles on a fair enough mark – he was very good over them back in 2017 – and he is a course winner who would enjoy decent ground, too. He has each-way claims.

Son Of Camas

He has very few miles on the clock, and still has the potential to prove himself a very good horse. Although his best form has come on soft ground, I do think he will be more effective on the better going that he will hopefully get here. If his returns to the form of his Newbury win last November then I think he will be competitive. The 2m5f trip is an unknown but he has had his wind done and we have been happy with him at home. Hopefully, I have three decent chances on Saturday, for all they come in very competitive races.
