Alright Sunshine

He has been well beaten in handicap company on his last two starts, but I think it is fair to say that he has shaped better than his final position at both Ascot and York. And he has come down 3lb in the weights since the Ebor. He showed he stays when winning over an extended 2m1f at Ayr last season, he handles soft ground well, and I can see this race suiting him. He travels well when on a going day, and that will be a big plus here.

Maid In India

I was due to ride her at Ascot on Saturday, but that plan obviously got scuppered. What I said about her there pretty much stands here. She handles testing conditions well enough, even if she is equally capable on quick ground, and she shaped really well on her first start since July when fourth in the Flying Five in Ireland last time. She ran well when fourth in this race last season too, and has strong each-way claims getting weight from the form horses.

Lady Wannabe

She comes here at the top of her game, following up a good run in the Group 1 Matron Stakes when winning over this trip at Listowel last time. Her record suggests she may prefer better ground than she is likely to get here, but hopefully it will be drying out come Saturday. She does need to improve a fair bit to be getting into the shake-up here against higher-rated rivals, though.
