WE HAVE seen some great stars at the Ebor Festival this week, with a fantastic renewal of the Group 1 Juddmonte International and a brilliant winner in Ghaiyyath. On Thursday the Arc favourite Love won comfortably and the stunning Battaash appeared on Friday, with the Saturday feature the Ebor Handicap. This year’s Ebor is another strong renewal and tipping the winner will give enormous satisfaction on what is an extremely competitive and intriguing card on the last day of the York Racecourse Ebor Festival #EborAtHome.
At Sandown there is a very good card too with plenty of competitive handicaps.
Enjoy a great Saturday watching top racing.
Cheers
The Wine Tipster.
1.50 York – Strensall Stakes Group 3 (1m1f)
Beringer looked very big on seasonal debut and in need of the run, so a surprise to see him run Dark Vision so close at Pontefract. Form of his Cambridgeshire second last season to Lord North looks all the better now (and remember first two were clear) and he’s more than capable at this level.

2.25 York – Melrose Heritage Handicap (1m6f)
Bodyline stepping up to this trip for the first time can take this for Sir Mark Prescott.
Bodyline has been gelded since his Newmarket run last time out when he finished second. On that occasion they went no pace and Bodyline pulled too hard, whilst not looking the most straightforward in the finish. His previous sixth to the smart Hukum at Ascot (won at Newbury last Saturday) was very eye-catching, as he came from too far back over one mile four furlongs and looks ready for today’s step up in trip.

3.00 York – City Of York Group 2 (7f)
One Master can follow up on her Group 3 success at Goodwood when encountering all sorts of traffic problems ahead of bursting through with an impressive late burst of speed.
That was on good to firm, however she has won on all types of going and the expected good conditions will certainly suit.
This is certainly competitive with the three in the betting all on the same official mark, but I think she will hold off the unlucky Safe Voyage at Goodwood and San Donato.
Unibet 15/8 win
3.40 York – Ebor Heritage Handicap (1m6f)
Alright Sunshine (nap) looks a strong each way wager as he appears to be overlooked here and can certainly be right in the mix for the Keith Dalgleish yard, who are back on form.
Alrighty Sunshine has importantly in the Ebor statistics won over two miles as he did at Ayr last season and on his first start of 2020 finished fifth to Nayef Road in the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes at Newcastle over the same trip. He then hit all sorts of problems at Royal Ascot in running when eighth to Fujaira Prince over today’s trip and would have been placed for sure. At Ascot Keith Dalgleish’s yard were struggling for form whereas at the Ebor meeting they have had a winner with Amber Storm and two other top three places at 22/1 and 28/1.
Ground all fine and stall 17 looks a good draw.

Ghostwatch for the Charlie Appleby team won the Melrose here back in 2018 over this trip and a Listed contest at Ascot and has been held in high regard. He has had issues and was off all of 2019 but has looked back to his old self on his last two starts with a second at Newmarket and a third in a Listed contest at Deauville. He isn’t ground dependant and this individual looks more than capable of playing a big part here.

4.40 York – Handicap (1m 2½f)
Cape Cavalli can follow up on his York success here last month for the Crisford team when winning comfortably over this trip. There was plenty to like about that performance and lots was expected from him at Goodwood but the awful draw meant he travelled out the back and never had a chance of getting to a challenging position as winner and front runner Maydanny (runs today) had bolted. Cape Cavalli won at Goodwood in 2019.
This is a more suitable opportunity in albeit a competitive contest for this progressive type who is ground versatile.
