12.40pm: Swindler was eye-catching at Newmarket but I am going to give Blue Mist a chance back at sprinting. He ran well over 7f at Newbury on his return but I reckon a stiff 6f here, with a strong pace assured, could be an ideal set-up for him.

1.15pm: Campanelle looked very quick when winning at Gulfstream but she is not your normal Wesley Ward juvenile in that she is a Kodiac filly out of a Namid mare, so European-bred and a pedigree that suggests she will handle this easy ground. On paper, she should appreciate the ground more than the War Front filly More Beautiful, so I will go with her.

1.50pm: If Frankie had been on Saeiqa, and not Existent, he would have been half the price, so I will take him each way in the Coventry. He is by Shalaa out of a Cadeaux Genereux mare, so he could appreciate the ground, and I thought he shaped well when third at Newmarket, green and better than the bare form.

2.25pm: Quadrilateral got no cover at Newmarket and I think we will see a better filly here. She has the best 2yo form and, as a horse that will get further, she should get the strong pace she needs to aim over a mile with Run Wild and Cloak Of Spirits in the field.

3.00pm: Pinatubo for me. You have to remember he is a lazy horse at home, so starting off in the 2,000 Guineas was a damn sight harder than making his debut at Wolverhampton. So I thought last year’s star juvenile shaped fine at Newmarket, and will be a lot sharper for the run.

3.35pm: The chat has all been about Sceptical but Hello Youmzain has a lot going for him. Kevin Ryan is brilliant with these types and his horse was very good when winning the Haydock Sprint Cup on soft ground last season. He was a good third in the Commonwealth Cup here last term too, and he has strong claims on just his ninth outing.

4.10pm: I am in danger of following him over a cliff but I will give Stone Of Destiny another chance. He has never raced on anything worse than good, so that could be an issue, but he is a course winner who shaped well on his return.

4.40pm: Nate The Great could improve enough to get into the shake-up here. He can be a bit keen but she shaped okay on his return, and could be a factor here if staying. He couldn’t be in better hands, anyway.
