Doncaster

Azzerti

He was very good on his day over shorter distances last season – when winning twice, and finishing a good seventh in the Plate at the Festival – and he has kept up the good work this term. He showed a really good attitude to win over 2m4f at Newbury on his reappearance and put a subsequent below-par effort behind him at Ascot last time. He didn’t trouble the judge on his step back up to 3m there but I thought he shaped pretty well in fifth. The handicapper has dropped him 2lb for it, and I can definitely see him taking a hand in the finish over 3m around here. The better ground – it was heavy at Ascot – is in his favour, too.
