TODAY'S Grade 1 Hurdle at Leopardstown has just come too soon for Supasundae.

There are very few options for him over here and I may have to look for a race for him in England. I don’t want to start him off over two and a half miles and as he’s getting older, he is taking a lot of work to get fit. He looks great so we’ll just have to wait a couple of weeks before we get him back started.

All is good with Sizing John who’ll head to Punchestown for a two and a half mile conditions race there on New Year’s Eve. It’s a nervous time as he’s been off the track for two years, but he is in very good form and has enough done to suggest that we can get him back going again.

It looks a very good race on paper – we’ll just have to wait and see what is declared, but I am very happy with him and it’s all systems go for Punchestown.

We run two on the final day at Leopardstown and my thoughts on them are below.

He is a horse that we like who has won a point to point. He ran a lovely race on his debut over hurdles when second at Punchestown and he has come on for that. He is working very well and has come forward since and two and a half miles will suit him down to the ground. I just hope the ground isn’t too soft for him.

He ran well when fourth behind a good horse of Martin Brassil’s earlier this month in what looked a good maiden hurdle at Navan. That was his first run since January and he has come on for that. It will be his first handicap and I hope that he’s off a competitive mark. He does jump well and if things go his way, he is capable of a good run.
