Wincanton – Saturday

2.25pm

Garo De Juilley

He is a very good hurdler on his day and I thought he ran a really good race for me when second to Slate House at Cheltenham last time. He has finished a close second in two of his three starts around here, falling on the other occasion, and you’d have to give him a fair shot on his Cheltenham run, especially as this better ground will suit. He clearly does need to improve a far bit though against some classy types.

Royal Vacation

He was beaten a long way on his Chepstow return but he was entitled to need the run and he has been dropped 3lb for it. That now leaves him on a very competitive mark, the same as he won off at Taunton in January, and good ground suits him well. I’d like to think he has a solid enough each-way chance, for all he does have to progress a fair bit from Chepstow.

Sandown – Sunday

2.55pm

Totterdown

He has really pleased us since joining the yard and everything looks in place for a big run. The handicapper has dropped him 5lb since his last run, which enables him to get into 0-130, and trip and ground look ideal for him, as he won over course and distance in heavy ground last season. He has a lot in his favour.
