Wetherby – Saturday

1.20pm

River Frost

It is great to have my first ride for the stable. He obviously hasn’t run up to his best of late but the handicapper has dropped him to 125, which allows him to get into this 0-125 handicap, so that helps.

3.05pm

The Worlds End

I schooled him last week and he is in good form. He was a very good novice chaser on his day last season, and we know what a classy hurdler he was before that. Obviously, he won his Grade 1 as a novice and ran well in the World Hurdle last year, and that level of form would see him competitive here. I would expect him to improve for the run, but this is a good starting point for him and let’s hope he gives us plenty to build on for the season ahead. He is a very talented horse and he loves decent ground, so the less rain the better.

Huntingdon – Sunday

12.35pm

Dawn Treader

I schooled him on Thursday morning and I was very happy with the way he jumped. He comes here fresh off a 1m2f handicap win on the Flat at Windsor last month, after which he joined Sophie [Leech], and I’d be hopeful he can put on a good show on his hurdling debut.

2.55pm

Stephanie Sunshine

She may not quite have lasted home over 2m5f at Hereford last time, so the step down in trip may help, as may the fact that she is racing off a 6lb lower mark here. Her hurdling form definitely suggests she has the ability to figure off this mark.
