Forever In Dreams

She split Advertise and Hello Youmzain in the Commonwealth Cup and would obviously have a serious each-way chance in this race if reproducing that form. But she has clearly been unable to back up that run on much softer ground on her last two starts, including when seventh to Our Master over 7f in the Foret last time. I think the return to this 6f will suit her better, and she has won on soft, so it’s all about whether she can return to that Ascot level.

Clon Coulis

She ran well below par for me at Newmarket last time but she didn’t get the run of the race there, so that wouldn’t bother me too much. She won’t have raced on anything this testing but on the two occasions she has faced soft ground, she has won and finished a nose second in the Hunt Cup over course and distance back in June. The handicapper has dropped her 2lb for Newmarket too, so she certainly has her chance, though she is far more exposed than a few of these and her draw in one of 20 may not prove to be ideal. But that’s my job. She just wants a fast pace to aim at, and you normally get that here in big fields.
