International Championship: 4 – 11 August 2019

Defending champion Allen looks strong

Mark Allen won the International Championship in 2018 after a stunning 10-5 final score over Australia’s Neil Robertson. And Allen is back at the baize this week to try and defend his crown. The Northern Irishman is playing in his first ranking tournament of the season, having missed the Riga Masters.

Allen was a first-round exit at the World Championship last season and in fact won just one other ranking tournament all year: the Scottish Open. The 33-year-old is seeking an early boost to the season here and beat Sam Craigie 6-1 in his first match of the International Championship. Allen plays Mark Davis in the second round and is a good bet to win that match.

After that he may end up facing Ali Carter, who is arguably the toughest prospective opponent Allen has his in path until the semi-finals. This makes him a good bet to win the International Championship here.

Bingham betters 2018 already

Stuart Bingham is another strong shout to win the International Championship — and he has already bettered his performance from last year. Bingham lost 6-3 to Eden Sharav in the China Open first round in 2018 but recovered from the shock to enjoy a reasonably successful season. He won the English Open and the Gibraltar Open titles, while also reaching the Welsh Open final.

Bingham is a steady player and reached the International Championship semi-finals back in 2016. He has already beaten Mark Joyce 6-1 in the first round this week and now faces Scotland’s Graeme Dott, over whom Bingham boasts a W11 L4 record.

Bingham might well face Allen in the semi-finals here and that would be a snooker live stream you won’t want to miss betting on!

Selby in good position

Mark Selby has twice won the International Championship and is looking for a third Daqing victory in four years. The former World No 1 endured a disappointing Riga Masters outing in the first tournament of the 2019/20 snooker season, losing in the third round to Stuart Carrington.

Selby is certainly not at the peak of his powers right now. He laboured to a 6-3 win over Liam Highfield in the first round here in China. But the Englishman is still a force to be wary of and snooker live stream and betting fans love to follow him.

Selby’s draw has been kind to him and he may not face a major name until Judd Trump or Stephen Maguire in the semi-finals. His draw makes him a strong player to bet on to win the International Championship.
