WELL let’s get this cleared up before we start.

I am fully aware dream signings may include Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo. But this isn’t FIFA so let’s just say that dream signings are realistic ones, yeah?

Plus, it would have been incredibly easy to write had I picked those three. You came here for a content fix, not a fantasy land.

Having said that Liverpool have been pretty quiet this window so any signing at this point would be a dream for some.

Timo Werner

The first one that popped into my head, if I’m being honest. But there’s several reasons why. Timo Werner ticks so many boxes that the fans and arguably the team are crying out for.

He’s a proven goal scorer in one of Europe’s top leagues bagging 63 goals in 188 appearances for RB Leipzig, whilst also contributing with 34 assists, pretty impressive. This consistency in form has seen Werner establish himself as a regular for Germany too with 10 goals in 25 games.

Werner is a natural finisher but also has the ability to play across the front three and also in a deeper role when needed. Something that we know Klopp desires from his players and something which fans feel would push Liverpool onto the next level. Having someone of that quality to challenge and/or support the front three in times of rotation, injury crisis or just to give one of them a rest.

At 23 years of age Timo Werner might be what you call an ‘FSG signing’, obtaining talent at a fairly young age in footballing terms, just before they peak and then become far too pricey. Although to be honest it’s not my money and I’m not that bothered. If the player is there, go get him.

Another plus is the fact his contract runs out next summer, the perfect bargaining tool for Liverpool. Rumours our they will have to fight off Bayern Munich, a path well-trodden in the German Leagues.

Liverpool are back at the big boys table and should act accordingly.

Kai Havertz

Could have easily gone with Paulo Dybala or Bruno Fernades at this point, but they look close to moving elsewhere, so I’ve gone for Kai Havertz.

At 20 years of age Kai Havertz is one of Europe’s top prospects and with good reason. He’s played 105 games for Leverkusen’s first team, which is an incredible feat when you think about it. And he hasn’t just been there to fill the squad, he’s been pretty influential, scoring 28 and assisting 22.

I come back to versatility on this one, brace yourself. He can play; centre mid, attacking mid, right mid, left mid, right wing AND second striker! He’s like a young, German, probably faster James Milner. Less Yorkshire though.

Like Werner, Havertz screams Liverpool to me. His ability to play all those roles when required means he will get game time. Liverpool don’t need ‘back-up’ players they need someone to call upon who can slot in multiple situations. And as mentioned, at 20 years old he will only get better.

A slight stumbling block might be his price. Probably talking around the £90m mark. A sound investment if you think about it though, you’d get at least eight seasons out of him. The noises from Liverpool suggest that we don’t have that money lying about having spent heavily in recent years.

We are European Champions though, we need to use that to our advantage and turn heads while we can, football develops quickly.

His price may come down as his contract runs out and when Liverpool have more money in the kitty, but I see no reason why we can’t put a cheeky bid in now.

I’ve also just watched a YouTube compilation of him and I’m all in. The music gave me a headache though.

Phillipe Coutinho

Only joking, I’m not having that conversation again.

Wilfred Zaha

If nothing else this would get right on Everton’s tits. Imagine the FUME!

Not the most logical reason to spunk millions of pounds on a player but it would be funny. I like Zaha though. He’s a proven Premier League player accompanied with skill, passion, drive and determination.

Imagine having him on the bench, or dropping him in when one of the front three were injured? You also have to admire his patience for putting up with Roy Hodgson all these years too.

Zaha is blessed with lightning pace which has punished us several times over the years and is one of a few players I watch and clench when he’s heading towards our goal.

Several fans have question marks over his final product but under Jurgen Klopp I think he could become much more frightening. Training with Mané, Mo and Bobby would also take him to another level, his confidence would grow and he’d probably have an emotional release when he realises he’s feeding balls to our front three and not Benteke.

Stats wise I think we all know how capable he is, but just to prove I’ve done a little research to back my argument up. He’s played 323 games for Palace, scoring 53 and assisting 65. He’d be lethal in our side

Zaha is clearly on the market and is ready for that next step. As I’ve already said, use the fact we are European Champions, fighting for a title, have one of the best managers in Europe and we are in the Champions League for a third successive season.

In fact, just show him the Barcelona highlights, that’ll do.

Don’t worry about the money, Zaha is capable of providing and scoring goals that can push us to the next stage in a title race and he’ll pay for himself.

Like Werner and Havertz he ticks the boxes in terms of versatility. You get the theme I’ve gone for here.

Again, imagine the fume.
