GOODWOOD

3:40 UNIBET STEWARDS’ CUP

Embour (Sean Levey)

As Unibet are paying SIX places in this I think it’s definitely a race to back each way and both our runners are decent odds to do just that. Embour finished fifth at Windsor last time but was only beaten a length which was a good effort and he handles any ground so you can certainly make a solid case for him. Obviously you can never be confident in a race as competitive as this but he’s in good shape and his form is good enough to be bang there.

Buridan (Tom Marquand)

He sneaks in off a nice low weight and arrives here with confidence high after a gutsy win at Lingfield last time and is still relatively lightly raced for his age. His work has been good and he handles any ground so I’m hopeful he can run a big race.

4:15 Maiden

Mambo Nights (Andrea Atzeni)

He’s definitely entitled to improve for his first run at Haydock where the ground was plenty slow enough and I think he’ll be much better on the quicker ground here. A lot of ours improve for their first run and this colt has a great chance.

NEWMARKET

2:40 Fillies’ Nursery

Falconidae (John Fahy)

She’s shown enough in three runs to prove she’s more than capable of winning a Nursery and hopefully the handicapper has her off the right mark but this looks a very tough race and she’ll have to take a big step forward to trouble the main protagonists.

5:00 Fillies’ Handicap

Star Of War (Jamie Spencer)

She ran well on her first try at this trip at Newbury last time and is a filly with plenty of ability. The ground will be ideal and her work has been fine so I expect her to put up a bold show.

CHELMSFORD

1:40 Fillies’ Novice

Masaakin (Hollie Doyle)

She ran with lots of promise on her first run at Haydock and has improved a lot since then. This looks a decent Novice but ours is a smart filly and I think she has every chance.

4:30 Handicap

In The Cove (Fergus Sweeney)

He might be a little high in the weights but is very consistent and tries very hard. The return to a mile won’t be a problem and I fancy him to go close.

5:40 Handicap

Bader (Fergus Sweeney)

I think 1m2f is probably his optimum and he ran well last time at Bath to suggest he has a chance but he’s got to prove he can win off his new mark; that said this looks a very poor race.
